The participant

Two years in a row I participated in the Marathon Swimming across Amur Bay. And I have only positive feelings about the event!

The level of organization was very high! This event should become an example for other similar events in Russia. More than a dozen boats ensure the safety of the participants; during the competition, any movement of water sports equipment across the Bay is prohibited! The Navy is also responsible for the safety of the participants.

Everything is thought out to the last detail: from the participants` transfer to the Start Location, to full supervision in the water. The whole distance is marked by big bright orange flags, which are placed every 300m through all 12 km! There are check points throughout the entire race distance! (It`s not like swimming in a lake, where you can just “throw down” several buoys and let participants swim in a clockwise manner. Here you swim in a sea, where there are waves and changing weather conditions).

Amur Bay International Swim is crossing the distance from shore to shore, and only after that is it a race! (And there are worthy competitors for athletes of every and any level).

The hardest victory is the victory over one’s self, and it is the main goal of the contest – to overcome difficulties, such as weather, waves and changeable underflows. You are full of emotion through the whole event, and here you can find everything you want! It is definitely worth trying—it is going to be an unforgettable experience!

P.S.  Besides, it is very nice to visit Vladivostok, the city of mountains, fogs and long bridges! To plunge into the beauty of unique nature of Primorsky Krai is priceless!
